What is an ADR tunnel code?

In Europe, road tunnels are categorised A to E by risk (A least restricted, E most restricted). The tunnel restriction code on a dangerous goods load tells you which tunnel categories the vehicle may not pass through; ✗ means forbidden for that category. Prohibitions can differ for tank carriage versus packaged (carton/drum) carriage. HazSeal surfaces the sealed Table A code and explains the letters — it does not replace reading ADR 8.6.4 for your load.

What is IMDG segregation?

Accepted Answer

Segregation asks whether different goods may travel in the same cargo space on a ship. In HazSeal's sealed sea view: PERMITTED means the matrix does not require extra separation for that pair; REQUIRES_SEGREGATION means keep them apart at the stated level; NEEDS_REVIEW means the engine could not decide from sealed data — do not guess, consult your TMGD/DGSA. Declaration accuracy remains the shipper's responsibility. Sea mode uses the IMDG 41-22TR dataset (unofficial Turkish publication; English IMDG text prevails where they diverge).

What is SDS Section 14?

Section 14 of a Safety Data Sheet is the Transport information block — typically UN number, proper shipping name, transport hazard class, and packing group when present. HazSeal can parse digital SDS PDFs with a deterministic (non-LLM) §14 reader and cross-check suggestions against the sealed ADR Table A entry. Values are suggestions for the user to confirm (Beyan Esası); they are never auto-applied. Scanned or image-only PDFs may be unreadable when extracted text is too thin. Always verify against the sealed canonical row before carriage.

What is the difference between LQ and EQ?

Limited Quantity (LQ): up to the LQ amount carried in small inner packagings, lighter rules (the LQ mark, basic packaging) replace most ADR provisions. (ADR 3.4) Excepted Quantity (EQ): for very small amounts, the E-code (E0–E5) sets the maximum inner/outer packaging quantity; if met, even lighter rules apply. (ADR 3.5) LQ and EQ are different relief regimes — meeting one does not automatically mean the other. HazSeal shows the sealed Table A LQ/EQ fields; check the full chapter conditions before relying on the relief.

When are orange plates required?

Orange plates mark the vehicle/unit: plain plates front and rear when required; numbered side plates show the hazard identification number over the UN number. Dimensions and placement are in ADR 5.3.2. Under the ADR 1.1.3.6 small-load exemption, if the calculated points total does not exceed the exemption threshold, heavy obligations such as orange plates, the ADR driver certificate and tunnel restrictions do not apply — basic rules (packaging, labelling, documents) still apply. HazSeal computes sealed 1.1.3.6 points and surfaces placarding checks; it does not certify that plates may be omitted for your specific carriage.

What is the ADR 1.1.3.6 small-load exemption?

Accepted Answer

Small-load exemption: each product's quantity is multiplied by a factor set by its transport category (cat.1 ×50, cat.2 ×3, cat.3 ×1). If the total does not exceed 1000 points, heavy obligations such as orange plates, the ADR driver certificate and tunnel restrictions do not apply; the basic rules (packaging, labelling, documents) still apply. Transport category 0 has no 1.1.3.6 exemption factor. Category 4 contributes factor 0 to the calculated value. Piece counts (unit “items”) are not kg/L — HazSeal treats them as NEEDS_REVIEW for the points sum. Use /check for a sealed points total on your load; confirm quantities and categories before relying on the exemption.
